Raven Williams

Raven Williams describes herself as a beautiful mess disguised as a human being. Within this beautiful mess words swirl around until they coalesce into fictional, fantasy stories or spiritual messages the world needs to hear.

When Raven is not writing, she is creating art in the form of fractal designs and abstract paintings. She is also a caregiver for a disabled family member and three cats. She currently resides in the Northwest Florida Panhandle, but the Pacific Northwest is the home of her heart. She hopes to return there one day.

What are you working on next?
Having just finished up Elwyndyn, I am now working on the second book in the Realm Jumper series, Elf-Witch where we will learn more about Valael
Who are your favorite authors?
I have a long list of favorite authors. My must read is definitely Christine Feehan's Dark series. I could totally get lost in the Carpathian world and never return! I also love Victoria Danaan, Kym Grosso, Maggie Shayne, Alexia Purdy, Lavinia Urban, just to name a few.

Smashwords book reviews by Raven Williams

  • Sophie's Secret on Aug. 20, 2013

Sophie's Secret is the first book in the Whispers series by Tara West. This book focuses on Sophie, but also introduces us to her two best friends AJ and Krysta. In this book, we learn that Sophie and her two best friends have secrets. We learn what their secrets are. We learn about Sophie, her secret, how she deals with it and uses it, and her innermost desires. It is a sweet story filled with crushes and revelations. For those who love the YA genre, you won't want to pass up this book or the series.
  • Don't Tell Mother on Aug. 20, 2013

Don't Tell Mother is Book 2 in Tara West's Whispers series. This book focuses on AJ and we finally get to see what is really going on with AJ and her mother and the reason behind it. Since this is a YA genre book, it is not as long as most novels, but the perfect length for this genre. The plot moves nicely and it is a great way to spend an afternoon or evening. The ending leaves you wanting more and helps to transition from this book to the next in the series, Krysta's Curse.
  • Krysta's Curse on Aug. 20, 2013

Where Don't Tell Mother focused on AJ and her story, Krysta's Curse focuses on Krysta. We find out more about her life and gift. We are given a greater understanding of how her gift affects her everyday life, her feelings, and desires. When she got angry, I got angry; when she cried, I cried. Tara West has a way of writing her characters that you just feel like you know them and want to help them. Another well written book by this author and as with the first two books, this book's ending is a transition to the next book in the Whisper series, Visions of the Witch.
  • Visions of the Witch on Aug. 20, 2013

This fourth book in the Whispers series gives us a look at the next phase of the lives of Sophie, AJ, and Krysta. In this story, AJ is dreaming, but instead of future visions, they are of the past. A very long time in the past. Because of events and their gifts changing, their lives take a different turn. AJ and Krysta go to live with AJ's Aunt Beatrice. Sophie was suppose to go as well, but her Mother wouldn't let her. The book follows AJ and Krysta in Salem and Sophie back at home. There are twist and turns and we learn more about the background of the three main characters. As with the other books in the series, there is a transition to the next book, Sophie's Secrets, but this ending is much more a cliff hanger than the previous stories. Another book by Tara West worthy of five stars.
  • Sophie's Secret Crush on Aug. 20, 2013

This book focuses solely on Sophie. As a freshman, she was the girlfriend of Frankie, but he moved away and she hadn't heard from him during the year he was gone. She starts school and meets Ethan. Then, Frankie moves back. All of this leads to an amazing read from Tara West with twists and turns in Sophie's Secret Crush. And, as in Visions of the Witch, we are left with a major cliffhanger!!!! Another five stars for Tara West!
