Frances Nugent first started writing when her dad brought a typewriter home from work when she was twelve years old back in 1958. Nowadays she works as a copyeditor, and her two previous books, Drawing from Life and Northern Lights, were published by Sceptre. She lives in Nottingham with her husband and has two daughters and a baby grandson.
This is the story of Naomi and Joss who meet by chance in 1956 and whose friendship survives the ups and downs of fifty years. Eventually, in their sixties, they come together again at the place where it all began – the azalea garden.
