As a Canadian, hockey is everything and when I read hockey books it always makes me think about the kids who play and how I wish everyone of them can get into the next level of play, right up to making it in the NHL. Then I watch a game and all I can think is I hope everyone of them gets to play on the team not just on the farm team (I have cousins who made it that far) and then when I watch my favourite team, I wish they could win the Stanley Cup but when the Oilers don’t make it, I am rooting for the Canadian team. But at the end, I am rooting for all the players that they get one chance to play in the Finals game and maybe win the Stanley Cup and I hope all of them get that chance at least once. Last Defense reminds me of all those wishes I keep for all the hockey players. I love Max and Ben, they are just so sweet and real. Life isn’t perfect and they handled their trial well. It was sweet and sexy and I just kept wanting to read more. May have stayed up too late to read. And who doesn’t love a dog, or many in a story. I love that Harrisburg Railers series keeps all the characters in each story and we get to learn a little more about all the players lives. I love this series and can’t wait to read the next book. I totally recommend this story.
