Ray was born in England during the Second World War and at the age of fifteen joined the British Army beginning his career at the Army Apprentice College. After completing his military schooling he joined the Parachute Brigade seeing action in Cyprus, Jordan and Palestine as well as serving in Greece Norway Libya and many other countries. His military career was cut short by an injury sustained as a result of a parachute jump.
Unable to settle to civilian life in England he emigrated with his wife and young family to Australia in 1969 where he had a varied working life taking on many challenging careers.
Following the death of his first wife he retired and started writing his life story "110% for trying." His first novel "Dangerous Neighbours" then followed a few years later.
Now in his seventies he is looking forward to embarking on an ebook career with his subsequent novels "Dangerous Intruders" and "The Young Palestinian" being published shortly.
He now lives in Queensland with his second wife and his two daughters, who live nearby.
