I placed third in the first short story contest sponsored by the Michigan Bar Journal in 2007 with a story entitled A Little Collateral Damage and finished second in the second short story contest sponsored by the Michigan Bar Journal in 2009 with a work entitled The Shadow from the Wall. I have received honorable mention for two short stories in the 2011 and 2013 contests. I also won the poetry contest for publication in the 2010 anthology of works by Writing at the Ledges.
The novel explores the explosive mixture of extensive availability of guns in the United States and the vitriolic rhetoric of talk show hosts. When this mixture leads to a massacre of innocent civilians, two witnesses to the event share experiences of a jury trial and ultimately, passion for each other. They attempt to prevent the occurrence of another bloody event provoked by a talk show host.
