Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I was fortunate enough to grow up in Westchester, New York and spent weekends and holidays with my grandparents at their hotel The Concord Resort Hotel in Kiamesha Lake, New York. It was a very different and amazing way to grow up. There was always this sense of wonder. There were always new things to learn about and watching my grandparents live made it seem as if anything could be possible. I hope that has influenced my writing as well as my life.
When did you first start writing?
I first began writing when I was very little. My mother encouraged reading and writing so by the time I got to kindegarten I was able to read. Reading and writing took me to new and unexplored placed from an early age on.
Ever Falk’s life growing up at her families resort hotel in the Catskills,
and in Westchester, New York never prepared her for the fight of her
life. We follow 40-something year old Ever when she suffers a
stroke and she is forced to look at her life, loves, and family
through different eyes.
