Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. My neighbourhood was middle class, not rich nor poor. My late mother and father were both voracious readers which rubbed off on me. I read everything I could from a young age. I naturally started with comic books, then YA novels such as the Hardy Boys etc. but then quickly graduated to adult books and stories. I read encyclopedias for fun. Every summer we spent at our cabin without electricity so I took stacks of books from the public library. Years later I decided to become a writer and these experiences have influenced my writing to this day.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing fiction seriously about fifteen years ago. For the first few years I struggled until I attended the Oregon Coast Professional Fiction Writers Masterclass taught by award winning authors Kristine Katherine Rusch and Dean Wesley Smith which opened my eyes to possibilities and made me a better writer. I also discovered I'm a storyteller which is why I still write. I love stories.
Fantastic western romance, filled with action and suspense. A handsome hero and a strong willed heroine make for compelling sexual tension. Lots of plot twists make a for a fun ride and a wonderful romantic ending.
