Laura's First Family
by Rick Blackmon
Brian Pinckney has a heavy load of guilt for surviving the war while so many of his command did not. He feels honor-bound to marry his prewar girlfriend, even though he no longer likes her. He brings her to his Texas ranch, but she complains constantly and connives to get him to go back to SC, something he does not wish to do. She leaves and he finds another, more likeable and reliable love.
