Don't let the cheap cover art fool you! (sorry, but that cover is the only part i hate about this book) This book is teen-YA fantasy at it's best!
The story is intricate enough to be classed as a proper epic fantasy, yet it's simple and light-hearted enough to be a nice, feel-good read. Perfect for days when life gets too complicated to be blustered by dark-themed epic-fantasy novels that are more common nowadays.
Great read!! The characters are colorful and well built. The world building is just right; detailed enough to be interesting, but doesn't go on and on like an encyclopedia. The plot, characters, and other details make it are reminiscent of the good, old RPG adventure games. All in all, I love the fighting scenes and the plot makes you want to read more. Can't wait for the second book!
This is an awesome book! I read this book months ago and got a bit ticked off by the formatting (I think it's fixed now), but I stuck with it. Boy am I glad I did! I finished reading book 4 and for me this is one of the best book series in Smashwords.
This book has an expansive world, detailed creatures and attributes, as well as a good plot and intriguing mysteries.
And personally I don't agree that this is a Pokemon fanfiction..
Sure there are some similarities, but speaking as a Pokemon and Digimon fan, I can tell that the author did not simply worked his story on an already established base; instead painstakingly worked out all the itsy, bitsy intricate details that usually make up very good RPG/adventure games and somehow managed to weave it into a solidly awesome story!
(By the way, I got this book months ago when it was still free and downloaded straight from Stanza. I lost it when Amazon kil- *cough* "discontinued" it so I had to buy it again to make this review. That's why it says reviewed on day of purchase. Yep. I love this book series THAT much.)
