Robert Desilva

Robert Desilva began writing for fun and for a sense of accomplishment when he was just twelve years old. This included winning awards for original plays he wrote in junior high. He has completed what he calls the Dark Season Series. This series consist of four novels that all contain a common theme. During the last four years he has written, "Young Vampires-chronicles of the Hunters," "A Gothic City," "The Dark Season-gargoyles," and "Vampire Hunter-the Genesis 1890," which was completed in 2014. He finds writing gothic - sci-fi material the most fun because there is less limitations for the characters. This allows him to contrast romance and violence in his stories-making certain one element does not over play the other.

Smashwords Interview

When did you first start writing?
I started writing when I was in junior high.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My latest book, "Vampire Hunter-the Genesis 1890," will be published on December 14, 2014. This is actually the 4th and final novel of what I refer to as the Dark Season series. The story revolves around Laythan Kendrew, the world's first vampire hunter who was born in Scotland and goes toe to toe with Lita Reznik-history's first true, super vampire during the 19th century. This is a very spooky time piece-complete with ghosts, witches and werewolves. Readers are taken back in time and shown how the modern day vampire hunters in my first novel came to be. This epic tale covers 8 decades and 5 countries, brushes up against the civil war in America and London's most fearful time of Jack the Ripper. Real, accurate, researched historical events are woven into this tale to move the story line along. In the midst of all this action, the most powerful, natural aspect of the entire story centers around Laythan and Ainsley Corrs. The audience gets to read about the greatest love affair that has ever been told and why theirs was pivotal in what took place because of it.
