Planting Time, by A. Francis Raymond was a delightful read, puzzling at first, but building with discovery. The style brings to mind some of the classic authors that I grew up with. It's one of those stories that holds a mystery that we are free to imagine one way or another until the end when the clues all add up to the product at last.
My own reading of the story finds an allegory from the human existence alive in this story so carefully told, and masterfully crafted. Raymond's imagination bears fruit, from the phrasing of the story, to the satisfying climax. I highly recommend it.
