An author from the north east of England who loves science fiction and has spent almost 20 years building the alethean legacy universe
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
It was about a haunted house, I was only 13 years old and my teacher thought I had copied it from somewhere or had help from my parents as it was of a higher standard of work than she was used to receiving from me.
What is your writing process?
I cannot write in the house, I need to be out in a coffee shop or somewhere where I have nothing to distract me. When I hit a block I stop immediately and think about the story while walking or during a commute, I usually have an idea when I least expect it and then I continue the story. If I have a particularly bad stumble, I write a place-holder in capitals and move on, rather than dwelling on it
Iraq, 1993. S.A.S. soldier Ryan Marshall is dispatched on top-secret government orders to post-war Iraq. What he discovers there is beyond anything he could have imagined.
A portal leads him to a mysterious, desolate space vessel that has been orbiting Earth for centuries. The human race had been observed by a technologically superior alien species, the Aletheans, until they were annihilated by a deadly virus almost four hundred years ago.
With the help of a small team of specialists, Marshall must harness the alien technology to defend Earth against an imminent destructive force unprecedented in nature, and harness The Alethean Legacy.
When Julia Harrison became a medical volunteer in Sierra Leone, she had no idea that she would be thrust into a hostage situation, and that the repercussions of her actions would change her life forever.
Four hundred years ago, an alien race called the Aletheans identified twelve planets in the galaxy that were similar to their own. They sent a survey vessel to each "candidate", hoping to make contact with their inhabitants.
Centuries later, whilst serving in Iraq shortly after the first Gulf War, SAS soldier Ryan Marshall finds himself aboard the vessel dispatched to “Candidate 11”.
The Aletheans are a race dedicated to the exploration of the Milky Way galaxy in search of planets like their own.
When disaster strikes the Alethean home world, the Controller of A-327 is left with only one option to save his dying people, but an ancient law known as The Causality Pact prevents him from taking action. He must now choose between the law and the survival of his species.
A death during an alcohol and drug fuelled evening leads to Chris Howells’ arrest in Las Vegas. Facing a possible death penalty for his crime, his father sees no alternative but to send Ryan Marshall, a soldier of the British SAS, to break Howells out of jail and smuggle him out of America.
SAS selection is the toughest military process in the world, and Ryan Marshall was expecting three months of gruelling hell.
When John Medforth is selected as his assessor, Marshall soon realises that no amount of training could have prepared him for what Medforth would subject him to.
Retribution is the back story of John Medforth, a leading character in The Alethean Legacy.
After serving fifteen years in the British Army, David Costello’s success has garnered him not only an inflated self-belief, but also resentment from his troop.
When he is thrust into a hostage rescue, Costello must not only free the captives, but also overcome his squad mates’ insubordination.
No Good Deed is a character backstory for the forthcoming novel The Alethean Legacy.
