Do you remember the first novel you ever wrote?
My first published novel was way back in the early 1990s and titled "I Do Not Prefer to Have Sex." It's half humor, half shock value. I wrote it in college, it was picked up by a small publisher, and some copies are still in print on used book sites. They sell for a lot, for some reason. I would greatly re-edit it, if I were to re-release it in e-book form, but I'd rather work on other projects.
This book actually was the warm-up to "The Dead Hut," as the main character is pretty much the same person, just at different points in their lives. Catty in "The Dead Hut" is a bit more fleshed out, and serious, compared to Kayla in my first novel.
What are you working on next?
I took a year off of my day job at a college to write one heck of a literary/crime novel. I really can't divulge the details, but it's the most original and intensive work I've ever accomplished. I am going the traditional route, with a New York agent and, hopefully, major publisher on this one.
