Rodolfo Eduardo

Biography

My love for writing started when I was just a kid, and now as an adult, I'm happy to be pursuing this calling through a career as a writer. I studied philosophy in college, so the nature of existence and human emotion are topics that have interested me for many years. I also have an MBA, which is a testament to my interest in being an entrepreneur alongside being a writer. Although I started with spoken word poetry, over the years I began writing more traditional poems and prose. My future goals as a writer, alongside continuing to create more poems, include finishing my first novel, writing a collection of short stories, and exploring other nonfiction projects on topics that interest me like investing, entrepreneurship, and technology.

Smashwords Interview

What is your writing process?
Free form, stream of consciousness. I typically read what I write several times as part of the copyediting process. Some poems take 2 minutes, others 2 months. I try not to force anything, I let the words arrive on their own. I usually try not to overthink either.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
The Voyages of Dr. Dolittle because of how trippy the whole narrative was; The Count of Monte Cristo because of Edmund's commitment to vengeance, misguided as it may have been; Animal Farm because of the symbolism and wordplay; Dharma Bums because of how realistic and rambling the story was written; The Illustrated Man because of how chillingly prescient it has become.
