This Transcendence Letters Series is most inspired by the author C.S. Lewis who believed in the power of myth and in the instrument of allegory in conveying non-fiction truth. While the extraterrestrial setting is imaginary on my part, it is nevertheless useful as a popular cultural paradigm within which to convey the real truths I put forward in these letters—as real as how the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe in C.S. Lewis’ “Chronicles of Narnia” represented the cultural concepts of Jesus Christ, Satan, and the Supernatural aspect of a world within the Christian imagination. I likewise borrow inspiration from Lewis when I shape this e-book series in the form of letters, similar his “The Screwtape Letters,” which, as I have come to appreciate, present the ideas of dramatic spiritual struggle in a new and refreshing way by drawing the reader into a more personalized environment.
See up and coming author, Roger Farinha, create an entirely new genre--spiritual science-fiction! And yes, this is fiction: the author does not espouse alternative history or conspiracy theories of any kind, but only uses the science fiction genre to convey his social message.
