Rolando F. Calzada
I’ve been writing my entire life but the rigors of running and operating my own company made my passion to become an author, not difficult, but impossible.
In my final year of study to become an electrical engineer, I dropped, out of college to pursue a career in the nuclear Navy. My passion has always been to be an author, and share stories, which though very real, are also quite unique.
I offer the viewpoint of two segments of society often overlooked. I’m fifty-one years of age and born in Cuba, my skin is black and my perspective is the reality which I’ve lived. I offer the fresh voice of an individual who, while mired in the around the clock struggle that is being an entrepreneur, witnessed the corruption and depravity of the inner city. My family came to the US in 1969, and our past pedigree was one of distinction and affluence. We now had to begin anew and rise from the embers of communism. My first book opens a Pandora’s Box to reveal prejudice, interracial romance, police corruption, and the strength of character of the Cuban expatriate.
