Smashwords Interview

What's the story behind your next book?
I’m very excited about my next book, ‘Nee-Jerk Reaction’, the second in the Marcus Nee series. It is set in Italy and focuses on another adventure featuring our swashbuckling clergyman. This time, Marcus has been promoted to monsignor and works at The Vatican City. He is forced to help a car thief whose life is threatened by a group of MI-6 agents, CIA operatives and neo-Nazi thugs who are trying to recover a vintage car the thief has just stolen. Marcus discovers the car belonged to Rudolf Hess, a high-ranking Nazi who had made a mysterious flight to Scotland in 1941 and had been imprisoned until his death in 1987. Marcus locates a secret compartment in the car and finds documents written by Adolf Hitler that reveal not only that the Fuhrer sanctioned Hess’s flight, but also that senior members of the British royal family sought to keep Britain out of the war by giving the Nazis a free hand in Europe. If they ever became public, these revelations would have far-reaching consequences for all concerned, so Marcus must ensure they do not fall into the wrong hands. The story will feature exciting car chases and fight sequences around the Italian countryside with lots of intrigue and plot twists along the way. Marcus joins forces with some of his old friends from ‘Week at the Nees’’ and he makes a few new ones as well.
