Ronald Joseph Kule

Internationally published author and poet Ronald Joseph Kule, was born in Bogota, Colombia, proud of his heritage. He began writing creatively at age seven. In early grade school days, he performed lead parts in musicals. In high school, he played baseball and football well but sustained greater interest in the performance arts, adding jazz music and reading classic books to his repertoire of pursuits.

At Oakland University in Michigan, he studied international cultures, ethnology and applied philosophy. Then, in New York City he added professional modeling to his resume, and, later in Los Angeles, acting, fine-arts painting - his works are held in private collections - and screenwriting.

His 39-year international sales/sales management/sales training career supported his writing and provided for extensive travel to 35 countries, including mainland China and Russia in the 1980's. Today, Kule writes and publishes books full-time from Clearwater, Florida, where he lives with his wife Sherry, a custom jewelry designer.

SELL BETTER, SELL EASIER, SELL ANYTHING ARTFULLY is his original, basic sales training book. The second edition, SELL BETTER SELL EASIER SELL EVERYTHING ARTFULLY, is available in Spanish, English and French on Also, available online in Italy in Italian as VENDERE MEGLIO, PIU FACILMENTE E CON MAESTRIA).

Kule's newest sales training book, LISTEN MORE SELL MORE, includes more data, exclusive training drills developed by the author, anecdotal stories and a complete, step-by-step training course, which ensures that each trainee obtains complete understanding and ability to apply what is learned. This book is designed for use by salespeople for self-training and corporate, in-house trainers. The author uses it as the basic text for his acclaimed, one-day, sales training workshops.

With award-winning sports journalist J David Miller, Kule co-authored CAROLINA BASEBALL: PRESSURE MAKES DIAMONDS, foreword by three-time NCAA Baseball Coach of the Year, Ray Tanner. Miller and Kule also published an eBook version, PRESSURE MAKES DIAMONDS A TIMELESS TALE OF AMERICA'S GREATEST PASTIME, which is available online. The book's meticulous text briefly covers the history of baseball, before diving into the history of (University of South Carolina) Gamecocks baseball from 1892 through their back-to-back national championships in 2010-2011.

His mystery/romance novel, ANYMAN DREAMS OF LOVE EVERLASTING, brings readers along one man's journey from recent, unexpected heartbreak; back to his checkered past with women; through the doorstep of his personal discoveries of what true love actually means; and, finally, to the day he finds real love where and when he least expects it. (

Kule's, CHEF TELL, THE BIOGRAPHY OF AMERICA'S PIONEER TV SHOWMAN CHEF, forewords by TV hosts Regis Philbin and Chef Walter Staib, published by Skyhorse Publishing, NYC, released in October 2013. This work has earned all five-star reviews in reader and celebrity posts. 40,000,000 Baby Boomers followed Chef Tell's TV appearances in the 1970's and 80's, eight times more than Julia Child. He was America's first "rock star" chef, who blazed the trail on which all TV chefs walk today.

Other books in progress by Kule include the biographies: CASSANO ~ NETWORKING MILLIONAIRE; FRAPAR! ~ THE LIFE AND ILLUSTRATIONS OF FRANCOIS PARMENTIER, ONE OF FRANCE'S RENOWNED SATIRICAL CARTOONISTS and MISHA ~ MAN OF MUSIC, the biography of the award-winning film composer and jazz musician. Two novels: THUNDERCLOUD (YA) and ALERIA (sci-fi thriller) are forthcoming.

Smashwords Interview

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I was born in Colombia, which gives me a definite sense of sangre with other Colombians. However, most of my childhood was spent in New Jersey and Pennsylvania - American father, Colombian mother. My heritage affected my writing more than locales. As early as seven years of age, I was aware of my desire to write. I also believe that we live many lifetimes, so I feel there are deeper reasons and events in my past that continue to affect my passion today.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
The plain fact is that writing a book is not like baking a cake. It's hard work, at times mind-numbing work; work which taxes my eyes, mind, typing fingers and bottom! What I'm getting at is this: if I'm going to spend 8-10 months, or longer, banging out a work that I feel is worthy and might change a few lives for the better, or at least entertain, I might as well ensure that I have the best possible chance at getting paid enough for my work so I can keep doing it. That's where indie publishing with Smashwords makes sense, because I'm going to see some exposure, have a decent return for my efforts, and get this gratification within a few days after I complete my work.
