Ronald Joseph Kule

Biography

Internationally published author/biographer and poet Ronald Joseph Kule, was born in Bogota, Colombia. He started to write creatively at age seven. In early grade school days, he performed lead parts in musicals. In high school, he played baseball and football well but sustained a greater interest in the performance arts, adding jazz music and reading classic books to his repertoire.

At Oakland University in Michigan, he studied international cultures, ethnology and applied philosophy. In New York City, he did professional modeling and, later in Los Angeles, added training in acting and fine-arts painting - his works are held in private collections.

His 39-year international sales/sales management/sales training career supported his writing and provided for extensive travel to 35 countries, including mainland China and Russia in the 1980's. Public-speaking engagements in 17 countries followed.

Today, Kule writes and publishes books full-time from Clearwater, Florida, where he lives with his wife Sherry, a custom jewelry designer.

BOOKS BY RONALD JOSEPH KULE

SELL BETTER, SELL EASIER, SELL ANYTHING ARTFULLY is his original, basic sales training book. The second edition, SELL BETTER SELL EASIER SELL EVERYTHING ARTFULLY, is available on Smashwords.com, which is also available online in Italy in Italian as VENDERE MEGLIO, PIU FACILMENTE E CON MAESTRIA.

Kule's newest sales-training book, LISTEN MORE SELL MORE, the first of a projected three-book series covering Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Selling, includes a uniquely different sales approach and data, exclusive training drills developed by the author, anecdotal stories and a complete, step-by-step training course. The combination ensures that each trainee obtains complete understanding and ability to apply what is learned. The book is not only designed for use by salespeople for self-training, but also by in-house, corporate trainers. The author uses this book as the basic text for his acclaimed, one-day, sales training workshops delivered by contract only, on location to groups and companies.

In 2011, with award-winning sports journalist J David Miller, Kule co-authored CAROLINA BASEBALL: PRESSURE MAKES DIAMONDS, foreword by three-time NCAA Baseball Coach of the Year, Ray Tanner. Miller and Kule also published the eBook version, PRESSURE MAKES DIAMONDS A TIMELESS TALE OF AMERICA'S GREATEST PASTIME, available online. The book's meticulous text covers the history of baseball and then dives into the history of (University of South Carolina) Gamecocks baseball from 1892 through their back-to-back national championship wins of 2010 and 2011.

Kule has published the first two volumes of a series of poetry eBooks: ROMANCE & SENSUALITY ~ VOLUME ONE OF A SERIES OF POETRY COLLECTIONS KNOWN AS HAIKULISMS(TM) and JAZZ POETRY, VOLUME TWO OF A SERIES OF POETRY COLLECTIONS KNOWN AS HAIKULISMS.

His romantic suspense novel RUINED BY MURDER ADDICTED TO LOVE (released April 2015) brings readers along one man's and one woman's journeys from unexpected heartbreak and checkered past relationships with women, through a portal of personal discoveries about true love and romance... to find love where and when it is least expected.

Kule's, CHEF TELL, THE BIOGRAPHY OF AMERICA'S PIONEER TV SHOWMAN CHEF, forewords by TV hosts Regis Philbin and Chef Walter Staib, published by Skyhorse Publishing, NYC, was released in October 2013. This work has earned all five-star reviews in reader and celebrity posts. 40,000,000 Baby Boomers followed Chef Tell's TV appearances in the 1970's and 80's -- eight times more fans than Julia Child. CHEF TELL was America's first "rock star" chef. He blazed the trail on which all TV chefs walk today.

Other books in progress by Kule include the biography FRAPAR! ~ THE LIFE AND ILLUSTRATIONS OF FRANCOIS PARMENTIER, ONE OF FRANCE'S RENOWNED SATIRICAL CARTOONISTS, and two novels, THUNDERCLOUD (a YA trilogy) and ALERIA (a sci-fi thriller).

Ronald Joseph Kule also works as a ghostwriter, collaborating with clients in commercial fields. Contact the author through KuleBooksLLC@gmail.com for details.

Smashwords Interview

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I was born in Bogota, Colombia, with a definite sense of connection to Colombia and its people. Most of my childhood, however, was spent in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. I had an American father and a Colombian mother. My heritage affects my writing more than the locales I've lived in or visited, which includes 35 countries. I was first aware of my desire to write at age seven, but since I can remember past lifetimes, my inkwell dips deeper than others can remember easily. There are for sure deeper reasons and experiences that continue to affect my passion to write as much as I can today.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
The plain fact is that writing a book is not like baking a cake; it's hard work, at times mind-numbing work. Writing taxes my eyes, mind, typing fingers and bottom! What I'm getting at is this: if I'm going to spend 8-12 months, sometimes longer, banging out a work that is worthy and which might change lives for the better, or at least entertain my readers, I might as well ensure that I have the best possible chance people reading my work so I can keep doing it. That's where indie publishing with Smashwords makes sense, because I know my work is going to see more exposure, earn a decent return for my efforts, and give me gratification within days after I complete and post my work. Having worked with a traditional publisher, too, I understand the pro's and con's of that route, too.
