Johnny Shortall

Biography

"Shortall": the result of too many dipsomaniacal, medieval Irishmen trying to outstupid one another in an overcrowded pub for the title of Village Idiot. Johnny is proud to be contributing to this long and storied familial tradition.

Despite his debilitating affinity for all things with the capacity to inebriate, including thick books and hard liquor (particularly Suntory Yamazaki whiskey, which he calls his "precious"), Johnny's ability to function in society remains intact.

"Brouhaha", the twenty four year old's highly unacclaimed first published novel, was met with crickets by both readers and publishers. He has begun work on a follow up, but remains tight-lipped. He lives in Auckland in his parents' basement and enjoys gastroenteritis.
