This story is packed with action from the very first line. Chloe is woken from a dream by her mother only to witness a handful of people barge in and kill her mother. But, before the murders can make off with her, another group appears and kills the murders. Chloe later wakes to find herself in a closed community and is told of her heritage and her importance. It grabs you from the get go and was hard to put down. The story is fast paced and not filled with superfulous details to fill space. Looking forward to the subsequent books in this series. This is the second installment in the series. This is not a stand alone story. It is short, but sweet and to the point. You will be lost without having read the first. The author keeps the story going without all the superfluous details some would like to fill space.
In this part, Chloe is becoming familiar in her new surroundings and her new life without her mother. While I am reading it is hard to remember sometimes she is only 15 because of her projected maturity in situations. The school scenes bring it all back though. I am excited to see what is to come in the third part. Will her and Drew make a romantic connection? Will Chloe finally come face to face with her father. And what is this power she is coming into around her 16th birthday. Many questions and hopefully answers.
This was the best part of the series so far. I was glued to the story. Chloe is coming into her new powers and discovering herself as a young woman. The community is attacked, people are hurt some killed. There is a New Year's eve bash that is still going to go on. Chloe has a date and Drew doesn't seem happy about it. Can not wait for the fourth part to be out. Two thumbs up to this author
This is my first book for this author and I wasn't dissappointed. There is plenty of action and lust for everyone. I am partial to this book because I love the Fae realm and the Fae princes, what is not to love? Well maybe death by sex, ha ha. If you liked the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning you will not want to miss this series. ****4stars
Sweet and tart as the main character's name implies. The romance was sweet and you felt for Cherry's situation and you wanted Lord Westbrooke to get the upper hand, too. The tension was not over much and the ending was great. Would love to have an ending so perferct. 4 1/2 stars
