RR Haywood

Biography

R.R. Haywood currently lives on the Isle of Wight, but was born in Birmingham, England. The early years of his life were spent moving frequently, living in diversely different cultures. Picturesque rural south coast of England where front doors were rarely locked to inner cities where front doors were triple locked, bolted, barred and not opened after 9pm.

Having travelled widely and after a few minimum wage jobs, he became involved with law enforcement some 15 years ago. R.R. Haywood always enjoyed reading and like many people, he went through phases of genre. Science Fiction, Cyber-Punk, Historical fiction but never, never crime thrillers, or crime drama, or crime romance, or anything that starts with "Detective Inspector..." or has the words "Forensic Pathologist" or involves the lead detective being an alcoholic drug addicted singer who writes poetry and is telepathic while being a famous portrait artist and drinks Bourbon but was once living on the mean streets of LA while undercover for the FBICIAMI5....not those (with exception for the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child).

It was while working his way through a stint of post apocalyptic books that his imagination went into over-drive, and having been a lifelong fan of zombies, and having always wanted to write...well the decision was made and The Undead Series were born.

What started as a 7000 word short story (the first Day One) was fiddled with, played with, fretted over and eventually turned into the 280,000 word series from Day One to Day Seven. These were released day by day on Amazon and the sales have been exceptional, with thousands of downloads within the first few months and great reviews being left on various sites and with a strong following already.

The first advice given to R.R. Haywood was never to write in the first person present tense, so, like a fool, he did. However, the result is an amazingly authentic and detailed blow by blow account, mixed with wry humour and great characters that burst from the page.

Currently, R.R. Haywood is sat at the keyboard, trying to write the next series for The Undead while being nagged to take his shoes off, stop drinking so much cappuccino, tidy up and stop playing with those bloody books.
