R. Scott VanKirk
Scott is best described as a serial entrepreneur.
As a computer consultant, for two decades he worked on projects as diverse as commodities trading and online gambling. Tired of getting cut on the bleeding edge of computer engineering, he swore that off.
Since then he has worked with three different inventors to bring very cool products to market. None of which ever actually worked. He has now sworn off inventors.
For many years, he purchased distressed homes, fixed them up and flipped them. After the worst housing market in 20 years turned him into a cash flow negative landlord, he has sworn off real estate investing.
Scott next founded and ran a multi-million dollar photovoltaics installation firm which was squashed by the local utility company. He has sworn off running a company.
All that left him with becoming a professional novelist, something he has played at and loved for his entire life.
While he plies his current trade, he has the honor of living with three generations of VanKirk women. Amazing, intelligent, beautiful, kind and supportive women. Far better than he deserves.

The Devil Made Me Do It
by R. Scott VanKirk
A Faustian Bargain
It's the age-old story—sort of.
Maxwell Niemand, now known as Maximilian Faust, semi-wittingly made a deal with the devil to be a rock star. Now he wants out and walks away from everything.
He moves to a small Mississippi town to start a new life in a decrepit antebellum mansion, but he discovers that the mansion and the town have secrets that will make his life interesting.
