I am Ramanujam (Ram),and I write contemporary fiction. I sometimes drift into believing that I am a good satirist only to quickly dismiss such delusions with a contemptuous laugh, and get back to reality.

  • Adrift on Dec. 28, 2017

When the story started off with a shipwreck and a couple stranded on a lifeboat in the harsh sub-Antarctic seas, I thought it would be a story of survival and human endurance, in the spirit of Ernest Shackleton's Endurance journey where he rescued his entire crew by embarking on a voyage to South Georgia. And then came the trunk and the little box inside, and turned the story on its head. Even though the end is foretold, the reader, much like the characters, hopes things will change for the better, at least this time around. Saying anything more will spoil it for the other readers and so, I will stop here. A gripping story, with a tight and brilliant narrative.

The cover is beautiful and so is the plot. The actual story needs editing though.

When a Marshall with a past and an outlaw by accident with a future come together, interpretations make way for what's right. An interesting read.

Old McLarsens had some farms is the kind of book anyone would want to read when young, and write when in the evenings of one's life. The book unravels a whole new world of the warm people living in farmlands, and conveys in the most evocative manner their taxing yet rewarding life, the kindness and warmth one can trust such people to show for fellow beings humans or otherwise.
