Smashwords Interview

What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I cannot wait to discover what the story will reveal. Every book, every story is a sculpture fleshed out on paper. Writing is chipping away at the layers to find the truth in the character's words, their actions, and their depths.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Reading. And then reading more. Among my favorite poets are Auden, Yeats, Keats, Shakespeare, Ignatow, Lorde, Ortiz, and Donne. Among my favorite writers are Stephen King, J.R.R. Tolkien, Mark Twain, Will Cuppy, Lawrence Gonzales, Mark Lewis, Walter Isaacson, James Santiago Baca, and Arthur C. Clarke.
