This story gives us an interesting perspective of a future that could potentially happen as we increasingly rely more and more on robots in our daily lives. The idea that robots could replace pets makes us stop and examine how much we are excluding/treating 'real' animals and our opinions of them. Its a short story, but it has a lot of depth and makes you wonder, 'Could this really happen?' and 'How do I feel about the suffering of 'real' animals?
