I am a writer from a multitude of backgrounds. I was born in the Soviet Union (Moldova), raised in Rwanda, fled the genocide in 1994 to Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of Congo), Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and, finally, the US. It was through the pain, fear, hunger, joy, and adventures of this experience that I find inspiration to write about my perception of life, my culture, and myself. I have also written a full-length play called "Where Flies Flock" which is set in my native Rwanda. I produce the monthly Exile Calling journal.
