Santoshan (Stephen Wollaston)

Biography

Stephen Wollaston was born and lives in the east end of London and was given the name Santoshan (contentment) by an English swami. He holds a degree in religious studies and a post-graduate certificate in religious education from King’s College London. He also studied typographic design and transpersonal psychology. In the late 70s he was the principal bass guitarist of one of London’s first punk rock bands, The Wasps. He has taught world religions and other humanities subjects, English language and academic writing at various educational establishments in the UK and at a medical university in the Middle East.

He is a Council member of GreenSpirit, a member of GreanSpirit's editorial publications committee, and the main typographic designer of GreenSpirit magazine and the GreenSpirit Book Series. He an author, co-author and editor of several books, including 'Spirituality Unveiled: Awakening to Creative Life' (Earth Books, 2011), 'River of Green Wisdom: Exploring Christian and Yogic Earth Centred Spirituality' (GreenSpirit Book Series, 2016 low-cost paperback edition - see Smashwords for low-cost eBook version), and 'Realms of Wondrous Gifts: Psychic, Mediumistic and Miraculous Powers in the Great Mystical and Wisdom Traditions' (2018 revised low-cost paperback edition - see Smashwords for free revised eBook version).

He was a close friend of the UK medium and former Benedictine monk Glyn Edwards for 26 years, co-authored two books with him and edited an anthology of his teachings.
