Xavier - as I am British, this is a typical British expression :)
The cum/come thing is as you say. 'Come' is the noun, 'cum' the verb. Usually. Depends on the context. Consistency works best, but authors sometimes forget and mix 'em up. Everyone gets the idea, though.
Let me guess . . . your hot part was just before Jen talks about 'temperature'?
