Sharon Chaconas is a kindergarten teacher. She is currently the webmaster for her school's website. Many Saturdays are spent on the sidelines of her son's soccer games. Quiet evenings are devoted to lurking on Facebook to see what friends and relatives are doing, reading the funny posts, and enjoying the inspirational posts. Her family and friends know not to call her at 8:00 on Wednesday nights because of her obsession with watching Survivor.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
The responsibility of my job and my family. It is a privilege to be healthy and able-bodied and to put in a full day of work. My profession is often as exhausting as it is rewarding. It is never boring and my students teach me something new every day. Though I admit that some days it is the value of patience.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Spending time with my family is a priority. It seems as though every time I look at my son, he has grown. I enjoy getting together with my friends and laughing.
