Sharon Mail was born in Glasgow in 1953. She graduated with a BA in Business Studies from Strathclyde University in 1986 and joined Scottish Mutual Assurance, which became part of the Abbey National Group (now Santander). She worked there for 19 years before leaving in 2005.
In January, 2006, Sharon became a full-time journalist working for the Jewish Telegraph Group of Newspapers. She now writes freelance, but remains the weekly Scottish correspondent for the Group. In 2008, she won the Writers’ Summer School Diamond Anniversary Article Competition. She is the Public Relations Officer of the Scottish Association of Writers, has run several workshops and courses and provides promotional and editorial material for organisations.
