Something completely different from Randy Lalonde. My introduction to Randolph Lalonde was by way of the awesome Spinward Fringe series. I'm thrilled to report that he has a flair for the supernatural/horror genre as well. Dark arts is a deftly written tale of a young man drawn back into the world of his childhood, where the spirit and natural worlds were interwoven. Max and his rock band Road Craft are struggling to survive in the disco takeover of the 70's. The money pinch causes him to return to his roots and follow in his father's footsteps. Artefact retrieval turns into a nasty piece of business for Max and his mates. After stepping into Maxwells universe via the first few pages I was hooked. I couldn't put it down till I finished it.
