Sheri Wren Haymore

Sheri Wren Haymore grew up in Mt. Airy, NC, and still lives thereabouts with her husband and a pup named Cercie. Together, they’ve made a living running a couple of small businesses, and made a life doing the things they enjoy—traveling, hiking, camping, kayaking. Sheri loves music and yoga, inventing gourmet meals from random ingredients, laughing with friends, and most especially spending time with her daughter. Through Wisdom House Books, she published a romantic suspense, A Higher Voice, and recently released a suspense/thriller, A Deeper Cut. A graduate of High Point University, she has burned more pages than most people will ever write, and is currently scribbling a third novel, which may or may not survive the flames.

Smashwords Interview

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
i grew up in Mt. Airy, North Carolina, and I believe living in a small town has allowed me to view a town almost as a character in itself. Creating a sense of place in a story comes second nature to me. Perhaps it was the era in which I grew up, but there was a lot of freedom and acceptance that a young woman could follow her passions and be whomever she needed to be. I was fortunate to come from a family that valued literature, and to attend schools where I received a remarkably good education.
When did you first start writing?
I think I've always written. When I was a kid, I would write my own episodes of the television program "Bonanza," and a friend and I would make up new "Nancy Drew" mysteries. Essays, our high school newspaper, a stint as writer for a marketing firm, industrial procedure manuals, original ladies' Bible studies, blogs, website material--in short, I've never stopped writing. But always, it was my dream, my assumption really, that I would write novels.
