Shirley Baskett

My autobiography is in print, and my fiction books are being released in print one by one, with the most popular so far being 'Heaven's Edge'. They lure unsuspecting readers into new worlds, strange tales and my sometimes quirky sense of humour.

My inspiration has come from my Christian faith, my life in New Zealand and Australia and my patient husband. I love sci-fantasy stories, and supernatural tales. My children's books were mostly inspired by two nephews who came to live with us at ages 10 and 12.

Being instant guardians of young lives, it was fun to hear their thoughts and join their worlds. Marama's Angel was written especially for my nephew Tim and Home Page was inspired by a holiday in Fiji with both Tim and Sam. Heaven's Edge was helped in the technical details by a biker who had come to live with us when he first found Jesus. I was indebted to him for his descriptions of bikes and the graphics depictions of coming off a bike, as my central character in this story does.

Being given an onsite education by the matron of the Auckland head injuries ward, was also of great value. This story is set around the 1980's in Auckland, New Zealand.

Check out my stories, I hope you enjoy entering my imagination. If you like them, let me know.
