Shirley Burton


Shirley Ann Thrasher Burton was born in Rosebud, Texas and lived to tell about it.

A late bloomer, she graduated summa cum laude in 1975, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy from Southwest Texas State University, (SWTSU) now Texas State University.

With a degree in hand she was hired as a school counselor in the Emergency School Aide Act and later certified by SWTSU in the Legal Assistant postgraduate program.

Retired from the Texas Attorney General’s office, she lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
