Smashwords Interview

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland. This was obviously a place I did not belong, and I always suspected that I was actually born in Paris to anarchist radicals but had been kidnapped by gypsies.
When did you first start writing?
I started making up stories when I was about 8. I expected people to believe them but nobody did. I stopped pretending they were true about the time I was 16.
