Colin Gray (1973-)

I am from Cape Town, South Africa, now living in Toowoomba, Queensland, AU. I am a bit of a jack-of-all-interests: A qualified pilot and flight instructor. I Play guitar, am also qualified as an electrical engineer, and I do paving, gardening, repairs to mantle clocks and paint watercolours for books.

Drive Coil (short story) 2014, came to be written after I was playing with audio book recording of a story about an android. I was using the computer narrator to play the part of the android, and started to create the character Ness and her spaceship Persephone

My second book, Space Drop, is set chronologically as a direct follow-on tale of Drive Coil, and has more character development. The Miner is my third book, also a short story, inspired by my 8yo son and his imagination. Read it and you'll understand why.

Please review my books when you finish them. I enjoy reading the feedback.

  • The Insanity of Zero on Feb. 04, 2014

A very futuristic setting and the internal strife of Z.E.R.O. that is well executed. I liked the liquid life concept. I feel it provides a view on the future of medical science and how it eventually will tempt man to using it despite the cost in lives. Reminded me abit of the movie Out of Time. Personally I didn't like the direct parallels with the bible. I think this could've been avoided, but it may not be a problem for many people. (6 day work, 7th day rest; prophesy of a child to be born, etc) Hence 4 stars. Thanks for the free book.
