I am an artist living in Black Hawk Colorado. I put down the brushes and started writing about 15 years ago when I could no longer tell the story on a single piece of canvas. I published a children's book "Crawlspace Charlie" in 2011, but "Innerearth" was my first attempt at writing a novel. I primarily write short stories now, including an annual Halloween story for family and friends.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Maryland, but my family moved often. By the time I graduated high school, I had lived in five states and had attended twelve different schools. I believe this experience has helped me in developing my characters, having met many types of people from different geological areas.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing short stories when I was in my thirties. My natural talent is as an artist, but I soon found I had things to express that could not be told in the thousand words of a painting.
