Jim Riva
Jim Riva was the class clown during his boyhood days in Illinois. He became a serious student of philosophy but lightened up with the firm belief that the best outlook on life is to take humor seriously. An off-the-beaten-track world-traveler, he spent fourteen years in Japan, during which time he wrote two novels and one book of humor. After returning to the States with his Japanese wife, he wrote a children's book (for his daughter) and began the Magic Carpet Trilogy. He and his wife and daughter live in Beaverton, Oregon.
