Smashwords Interview

How did Ebook Launch get started?
Formatting ebooks started out as a hobby. I was helping people get their books published on Smashwords. It grew into a business from there. We still have the same philosophy today as when it was a hobby. We are all about empowering and helping authors.
How long has Ebook Launch been in business?
Ebook Launch has been in business as Ebook Launch since August 2011, but John has been with Smashwords since October 2009

Creating Consciousness is a spiritual & intellectual treasure from Zen Master Albert Low. Low’s main thesis, drawn deeply from the wisdom of Zen and decades of his own meditation, is that each individual is a divided reality. The fact that we are one and yet divided, at the center and the periphery, leads to Low’s discussion of ambiguity, creativity, & violence as integral to human existence.

Albert Low’s book shows how the religious impulse is expressed by two entirely different kinds of religions: religion as a set of beliefs centered on a unique, dynamic center such as Christ, Mohammed or Buddha, and religion as a quest. Dr Albert Low is the teacher at the Montreal Zen Center and an internationally acclaimed author.

What is most important, but invariably overlooked, is not what I am conscious of, but that I am conscious. The only way this can be verified or even considered is by “1st person” enquiry. A way by which this can be established is by koan practice. I explore ways to allay scientific suspicion towards subjective accounts, and show how koan study is used as first person scientific inquiry.
