The Secret of the Tirthas is a young adult book series, following the adventures of Lizzie Jones as she explores the mysterious garden of rooms she’s inherited from her great-uncle. Each garden hides a miraculous portal, or tirtha, which transports her to exotic locations across the world in India, Africa, the US and China.
But Lizzie soon finds that the magic of the tirthas is also being exploited by demons and other supernatural creatures. Can Lizzie and the friends she makes through the portals stop them before they achieve their evil ends?
Lost through the magical network of portals connected to her garden, Lizzie Jones must find a way back home to stop the demons and their collaborators from destroying them. But a further betrayal awaits her – a betrayal that will throw her into the hands of those she despises most. Those who plan to use her for their own treacherous ends.
Lizzie Jones is drawn by the mysterious Lady in the Moon Moth Mask back into the tirthas, the magical portals in her garden, to find the last Artefact of Power, hidden in a different place and time. But others are pursuing the Artefact – evil creatures who will do anything to avoid their summons to the terrifying Unknown Realms. Can Lizzie stop the demons before a new evil comes into the world?
After local boy Thomas Bennett goes missing, Lizzie Jones is once again drawn into a magical portal in her great-uncle's garden. She finds herself in the African jungle where with the help of two teenagers she has to overcome threats from wildlife and bandits to rescue Thomas. And only when she is furthest from home does she come up against her oldest, most savage foe.
Exploring one of the overgrown ‘rooms’ in her inherited garden, Lizzie Jones finds herself transported again through a magical portal, this time to the Louisianan swamp. There she is pursued by terrifying creatures to Cypress House, where a sickly girl and her carer are trapped. With the creatures outside and the portal lost on the swamp how will she find her way home?
After inheriting her great-uncle’s cottage, Lizzie Jones discovers a magical portal to Kashi, the Indian City of Light, concealed in his strange garden. Soon she begins to suspect a mysterious intruder might be the terrifying child killer, the Pisaca of Kashi, using the portal to evade capture. Lizzie must act to save the children – but what can she do?
