The Quickie (Sexy and Short Erotica Story)
on Jan. 22, 2013
Short sex scene. Competent writing but a bit too short on character and plot for me. I prefer a bit more atmosphere. Still, as an example of How To write sex, it's fine and I love the cover. Will try another piece by this author soon.
The author writes that this is a first effort, and it is a fine one. Think Dark Angel with elements of Universal Soldier and touches of Mary Gentle's Orthe series. There's plenty of plot, and the characters are interesting. Lotta Bangs has what it takes to write really good sci-fi, however, this is a first effort and it needs a bit more work. As it stands, it's a 3 star; it has potential to rate 5 stars. If there's a rewrite, I'd love to read it and rate it again. I'd also be interested to see Lotta Bangs future works.
Great fun short with a well developed universe and intriguing characters. Def worth turning into a novel!
Her Master's Courtesan

Well, this is a disaster! This book is only formatted for Kindle so I couldn't read it until someone at Smashwords helped me out. Smashwords converts automatically to epub, pdf, etc etc which I can read so I don't see why the author has disabled other formats.
I read the first third and it wasn't my sort of story. It's cruel and I like my erotica with a dash of romance. The writing's fine, I just don't like the story.
It was nice to see a hero who's a good man all the way through. Paxton is sweet, easy going, generous and kind. At the start of the story his wife Julie is walking out on him - and taking their kid, Jason. Paxton hooks up with an internet friend, Alissa, who's also a sweetie. The tension in the book comes in the form of a crisis - which I won't spoil for you.
I liked this a lot, but it's odd how Paxton is the sort of man I'd date but in book form he was a bit too nice for me. So was Alissa. She was so sweet as to be almost saintly. I like Julie best - because I like a bit of bitch in my characters.
Overall this is well written and there's tonnes of sex. if you want a nice story with good people for an afternoon's read, give this a go.
