The Crossing

A deeply moving short story that takes the reader on the courageous emotional and physical journey of a young Italian woman, with her young children in tow, as she follows the love of her life to the United States. The characters are so alive. They pulled at my heart. The imagery of the countryside and locals took me back in time to a simpler but often more brutal side of life not often written about in such personal stories. I can't wait for the next book to follow Ignazia and her family. Beautifully written.
