    This must be the first time that i actually cried while reading a book. A very touching story. It covers racial discrimination, poverty, single motherhood, alcohol abuse, child exploitation, sexual abuse, and so many such issues that we face everyday happening around us or with those that we love and care for. There is so much pain and suffering - it makes you feel sad for Garett and Eden, and you wish for their happiness. The vicious circle of misfortune does not leave them alone. By the end you realize that Garett really is a superhero- sacrificing everything, even his own happiness for those he loves and cares for. A true hero. This is a very well written book. Easy to read through. Simple, free flowing words. Really worth it. Would recommend everyone to read it.

    Loved the book. This is the first book that i have read from the author and i found it very interesting. A well written book. It is unlike the usual romance novels you find. The story line is engaging and intelligent. A nice love story for a rainy day.. must read for romance lovers.

    I was pleasantly surprised by this short story. It is an exciting sci-fi adventure that keeps you on the edge throughout. Very finely written, it sure is a fantastic effort by the author. The story is about a mother's search for her son, who is taken away from her. With the help of friends she embarks on a thrilling search behind enemy lines to find him. She in fact finds more than she had thought she ever would. Thoroughly enjoyable. Very interesting story. Would recommend it to others too.
  • The Mystery of the Missing Money (The Mystery Series, Short Story 1) on Nov. 04, 2012

    This short story is part of a series written by the author on the adventures of 4 children, who because of their quick thinking and resourcefulness (in this book) go on to unravel the mystery of the stolen money and capture notorious felons while facing a rocky adventure. The writing style of the author is simple and compact. The story moves fast, though there were places where I personally felt that a bit more detail and a smoother flow would have made is pleasant. The idea of the preface was nice but a little more history about the children, woven into the narrative, would have been ideal for a reader like me who is not familiar with the earlier books in the series. I liked it, though I wouldn’t say I was hooked. I am an Enid Blyton fan and I may have been a bit biased while reading this book. The story reminded me too much of one of her books and I kept making comparisons between the two. Nevertheless, it is a good attempt by the author and children and adults will surely delight reading it. {I received this book as part of a LibraryThing giveaway, in exchange for a review}

    This was a very short story. Though I liked it, I still felt that it would have been better if it would have been longer. The concept was really good but the story needed to be developed more. There are few visible gaps that sort of broke the reading pace. Long sentences and complicated explanations sometimes dragged the narration and made me go back over what was being said. The end was unexpected and very different, but a bit of clarity on how it came about, would have been wonderful. Overall a good attempt.
