What appeals to you about writing for doctors?
I love being able to connect with people even though we may never meet.
What started you writing for doctors?
I was a doctor myself for thirty years and married to a surgeon so I was very aware of the stress that doctors experience. When I decided it was time for me to leave the medical profession I trained to be a life coach for doctors. I wrote an article for the British Medical Journal for the section called Personal View. This short article enthused about life after Medicine, so it wasn't published! However the editor of BMJ Careers Rhona MacDonald contacted me and asked me to write how life coaching could help doctors. I wrote about how doctors could balance their work with the rest of life more effectively and following this I had an article published each month, writing about lifestyle and doctors. Theses articles eventually evolved into several published books.
