Harold Swift


Dr. Harold T. Swift is an author and sports columnist for Community Voices. For the past 20 years his mission has been to help student-athletes obtain their athletic, academic, and personal goals. His passion for sports derived from his basketball playing and coaching experiences.

He was blessed to have been a part of two different Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) Men’s Basketball Class A State Champion teams, 1998-99 Ann Arbor Pioneer & 2009-10 Kalamazoo Central High.

He has a Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Leadership and a Masters of Arts in Sports Administration both from Western Michigan University. Also, he has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Eastern Michigan University. He is an International Sports Sciences Association certified personal trainer and conducts individual basketball workouts.

He currently resides in Kalamazoo, Michigan with his lovely wife, Kari, and their two sons, Delvin and Wilson.
