Amber White

Born and raised in Vacaville, California, Amber started showing a taste for all things horror and grim at the age of two, when she watched her first horror movie. She also developed a fondness for creating her own stories early on, and the combination of the two seemed only natural.

Amber now lives in Northern California with her dog and two kitties.

Smashwords Interview

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Vacaville, CA. A fairly small town that's gotten much bigger recently.

My teachers in elementary school were the ones who got me into writing stories, really. I'd make up stories on my own, but never wrote them down until one of my teachers started making us write every morning. They urged us to write so many words at a time, trying to round out our vocabulary and get us thinking. Without them, I don't know if I ever would have started writing in the first place.
When did you first start writing?
I wrote my first short story in the sixth grade. After that, it was a few short stories here and there, along with songs and poems up until college, when I wrote my first novel.
