Smashwords book reviews by Tangerine Publications Ltd

  • The Institute on Jan. 18, 2015

Before launching into specifics, I should point out that I read this book in under 24 hours. It was hard to put down… and not because my e-reader has glue spilt on the cover ;-) The Institute, by Kayla Howarth is a fast-paced dystopian which initially felt like Divergent, with elements of mystery, romance and a desire to protect those we love. However, as the story unfolded, it was more diverse, with its own originality. Fans of young adult fiction will find this a winner, with twists and turns that are a hallmark of the genre, yet I was not able to anticipate some, which were handled sumptuously. Well done, Kayla, I’m looking forward to the sequel and thank you for the reciprocal review.
