Biography

PHOTOGRAPHY - For Christmas when I was eleven years old I got the greatest gift I could imagine: a Pentax film camera with a Tamron lens. For the next five years that camera and I were inseparable and when the time came to switch to digital I knew exactly what I wanted: A Pentax digital camera (but I waited until they came out with one that had a real shutter) and a Tamron lens to pair with it. I remain a photographer to this day and have hung my prints in several libraries and galleries throughout Minnesota. Click here to see my online photo gallery

PAST WORK - I have an array of odd jobs behind me. I grew up on my family's golf course (Fair Havens), managing the club house (working behind the counter, running the cash register) and the rough mowing for eleven years. I bought a 3,000 square foot house in Oklahoma that I gutted and renovated for five years. We did all of the new electrical, plumbing and sheet rocking; nothing was hired out. I've modeled several times throughout my life, mostly for my own photography. Besides that I've worked as a receptionist for Sherlock Homes Inspections and the Hubbard County Abstract Company. I've also been hired as a wedding and protrait/family photographer. From time to time I've also given golf lessons.

WRITING - My writing life began literally before I can remember. I have always been a reader and, for my entire life, I have wanted to be a novelist. I have one book finished, the sequel nearly complete and several other books that I'm working on. I do some poetry and short stories and have been a part of the Jackpine Writer's Bloc nearly forever.
