Devin Stewart was raised a holy disciple of The International Society for Krishna Consciousness along the banks of the mighty Ganges River. After a brief career as an international hand model and spokesman for Tag Heuer watches, Devin moved to Seattle to pursue his dream of becoming the next Eddie Vedder and/or the next Gary Payton. He is currently serving time at Meadow Hills High School, home to several of the nation's most clueless educators and the world's most evil administrator, Principal Reginald T. Stevens. A curse on him and his family.
Who are your favorite authors?
Spoiler alert! I am a high school student, so my idea of a good author is probably "mucho differente" than for most of the other authors out there. Most of the stuff they make us read at my high school is so boring it makes me want to claw my eyeballs out. One of my favorite authors is Wilbur Smith. Check out his historical fiction centered on Ancient Egypt, especially River God. Awesome series. Have always loved the Lord of the Ring series, probably the best series ever. Love Stephen Colbert's books; as funny as his show.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Thinking of ways to make my teacher's lives more miserable, lol. No, contrary to rumors, I am actually a pretty good student, mostly A's and the occasional B. Will be going to the University of Washington in the Fall of 2014. I don't hate school. I just don't feel like students should have to put up with bad teachers. Also, adults at school make things much more difficult on students than they need to be. Example: Yesterday, a kid in my class left his ringer on and it went off during Calculus. Teacher totally freaked...now, that's something that has happened several times to my teachers, and it seemed like no big deal when it happened to them! Nobody took their phone away! There are all kinds of double-standards here at school. It just doesn't need to be this way. Teachers can be decent to be around and still teach us the stuff we need to know. All my blog does is point out the teachers that are being jerks and stand up for the student, plain and simple.
