I enjoyed reading this awesome book. It draws you in and hits your emotions right away, sucking you into the world of a 10th century Welsh bond servant and the man who would make her his wife. Unlike so many books that give you the thoughts and impressions of both the hero and heroine, this book sticks to the heroine's point of view--making you hurt when Heledd is hurt and defiant, struggling to cope in a world that has cast her aside and humiliated her. An orphan tossed out in a world of unjustness that she has no way of rectifying. Until, Garmon comes into her life, confusing her and making her want something she knows she will never be able to have or to keep. I highly recommend this book and am eagerly awaiting more books from this author. A new author who will make her mark in the historical romance genre. Thank you, Lily, for a day of emotional reading, many tears and tissues, and an inability to put my Reader down until I was finished.
